Lead Engineer

Job Title: Lead Engineer Duration: 3 months Schedule: if onsite, 2-3 days a week in Veldhoven office If nearshore: quarterly visits for events in Veldhoven office Location: Veldhoven This opportunity is with a global IT consultancy and offers the chance to lead architecture, security, service design and automation across production datacentre environments. The role is focused on Cisco ACI fabric ownership, F5 BIG-IP delivery, and zero-trust segmentation in a complex global infrastructure landscape. This position will play a key part in improving resilience, enabling secure recovery capabilities, and advancing modern infrastructure automation. Required Experience: Experience leading engineering activity across global production datacentre environments. Strong background in architecture, security, product design and service design within datacentre network services. Proven experience delivering secure incident recovery environments and isolated failover testing without production impact. Experience driving micro-segmentation strategy and phased migration execution in enterprise infrastructure environments. Track record of sustaining high availability, reducing unscheduled outages, supporting aggressive CVE patch timelines, and maintaining strong segmentation audit outcomes. Required Skills: Cisco ACI, including Multi-Pod, Multi-Site, ESG, PBR Service Graphs and APIC REST API. Cisco Nexus 9K, 7K and 5K, plus strong knowledge of VXLAN and vPC. F5 BIG-IP, including LTM, GTM/DNS, iRules, PBR, DSR and SNAT/No-SNAT. Citrix NetScaler. Design and delivery of tiered ADC and DCLAN service offerings with defined service levels. ACI VRF remap design for secure containment and recovery testing. F5 BIG-IP Dual-PBR No-SNAT migration delivery on ACI 6.0. Python tooling for tenant migration validation and configuration generation. Cilium BGP L3Out integration for Kubernetes workloads on ACI, including BFD tuning and route-map controls. Hybrid infrastructure automation using Terraform for Day-1 and Ansible/AWX for Day-2 operations. Automation and delivery capability across GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps Pipelines.
