If you, like us, are a true enthusiast of large construction machinery and also possess technical and manual aptitude, then our workshop is the perfect place for you. Over 3.5 years of apprenticeship, we will train you to become a true professional in the maintenance and care of the diverse machines in our Glass fleet.

From forklifts, rollers, excavators, wheel loaders, trucks, trailers, to special vehicles, our portfolio includes truly large and interesting equipment. You will learn how to perform maintenance and repair these vehicles as needed. You will work with wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers, as well as power tools and diagnostic equipment to identify faults. The fundamentals of metal processing are also part of your job, as you will frequently need to weld, grind, or drill.

Overall, the range of tasks is very broad, allowing you to acquire extensive knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, electrics, and electronics during your training. This knowledge is crucial, as every vehicle type is different, and not every damage is immediately apparent. Sometimes theres an issue with the gearbox, a hydraulic hose might be leaking, or a fuse could be defective. But dont worry, your experienced colleagues will always be there to support you with advice and assistance.

Your primary workplace will be our workshop in Mindelheim. However, in some cases, you may also be dispatched to a construction site if an urgently needed machine is out of service there. But no matter where you are, boredom will never be an issue.

Duration and procedure

The apprenticeship spans a total of 42 months and follows a dual system, combining practical work within the company and vocational school. The first two years of the apprenticeship primarily focus on fundamentals such as maintenance, troubleshooting, and initial repair tasks.

In the third and fourth years of your apprenticeship, you will delve deeper and undertake more significant repairs. At vocational school, the curriculum will primarily focus on the repair and function of chassis and power transmission systems.
