What you will do:
Direct the Manufacturing Engineering activities involving metals, composites, and aerospace hardware.
Manage Outsourced and Contract Engineering Services.
Perform engineering support allocation and manpower analysis, vacation scheduling and other administrative duties.
Manages the MEs who plan sequences of operations, estimate processing time and writes process sheets and bill of materials
Must be able to determine from part drawing and other engineering data the manufacturing methods and processes necessary for the fabrication and assembly of complex products.
Investigate, establish, and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, and material, including make or buy decisions and facility layout as required for new or revised products.
Investigates and troubleshoots manufacturing problems.
Provides technical support to operations.
Consult with CIPT or customer engineering concerning the suitability or produceability of parts.
Maintain/Provide ISO9001/AS9000 documentation support.
Qualifications you must have:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or related field with 12 years of experience; or an advanced degree with 10 years of experience

Qualifications we prefer:
PhD or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Mechanics
Able to interpret manufacturing drawings and blueprints.
In-depth knowledge of design concepts involving composites, metals, and aerospace hardware. Understanding of composite or bonding Tool design.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (ACE, 6s, etc.). Participation in or trained in Design To Cost philosophy.
